Good friends come and they always go. Always. Anyone who tells you they're gonna hang around is lying, it's as simple as that. Even those with pure intentions, eventually go away.
I've had one too many experiences with people who say they'll always stick around but who just move on before I realize they're gone =/ Maybe I'm just slow. Or I've been too much of a "good friend" to notice. Seriously, I can think of a few people I would still go out of my way to help but who wouldn't give a rat's ass about me anymore. But that's just how I am I guess because at some point they probably would have gone out of their way for me and I'll always remember that.
But from now on with whoever I meet in the future, I'm not falling into that trap or believing any of that nonsense because yes, they always go.
Convince me otherwise. I dare you too. Because I really wish someone would.

I disagree! I still keep in touch with my besties from primary 6, and the high school bunch has been making the effort to stick around for each other in the past 6 months - although we're all over the place now - and we seem to be doing a pretty good job of it so far :)
But I'll get back to you in a coupla years and tell you if any of that changes or not, k. Heh.
that's great =) I dunno, I've seen it work for people but I guess I have no reason to believe since it doesn;t happen to me. Kinda like love at first sight maybe? haha, you know it happens but you won;t believe it until it happens to you =/

We may not be as close as we were before, but I am not completely gone. I think I can safely say that I'd still go out of my way to help you... or at least tried my best to. A bit susah now that we're on different continents, lol =P I wish I could convince you, but you're a kickass debater that I don't want to pick an argument with *grins*

Good friends come & go, but never intentionally, I believe. It's just that our paths diverge all the time & that can't be helped.
I guess I've learnt to just appreciate the now & don't expect too much in the future. But once in awhile, we come across one or two friends who would still walk the extra mile for us. & those are the ones who end up being your best friends. :)
